Leicester City’s Wout Faes Keen to Seal Permanent Monaco Move

Leicester City defender Wout Faes has made it clear he hopes to turn his loan spell at AS Monaco into a long-term deal, potentially bringing his time with the Foxes to an end.

The 27-year-old Belgium international joined the Ligue 1 side on loan in January 2026 until the end of the 2025–26 season, with an option to buy believed to be worth between €5 million and €10 million. Having previously played in France with Stade de Reims before arriving at Leicester in 2022, Faes has settled quickly back into Ligue 1.

Since moving to Monaco, he has delivered a series of strong performances, strengthening the club’s defence during a demanding period.
