Everton has officially announced five exciting transfers, marking a significant turning point for the club. These moves reflect the strategic decisions made by the management to enhance the team’s performance and competitiveness in upcoming competitions. With these key additions, Everton is poised to strengthen its roster and pursue its goals with renewed vigor. The club looks forward to the impact these transfers will have in the season ahead.
Everton are preparing for a busy summer transfer window as they aim to strengthen their squad and build on their push for European qualification, with five notable targets emerging while David Moyes looks to reinforce key positions.
Sources close to the club have indicated that the Toffees are focusing primarily on strengthening both their attack and defence as they plan for the upcoming campaign.
Up front, Everton are relatively satisfied with current strikers Thierno Barry and Beto, who have carried much of the goalscoring responsibility this season. However, both have struggled to deliver consistent performances, meaning the club has not ruled out adding further competition.
If Beto leaves amid reported interest from Serie A and other clubs, Everton are expected to be particularly active in the striker market. One player high on their list is Chelsea forward Liam Delap.
The 23-year-old previously rejected a move to Goodison Park last summer in favour of joining Chelsea but has since found regular playing time difficult to come by at Stamford Bridge. Everton could revive their interest with a move to bring him to Merseyside, seeing him as a possible long-term option in attack.
Barry and Beto have scored six and four Premier League goals respectively this season, and Moyes remains open to strengthening his attacking options. However, the club’s recruitment plans extend beyond the striker position, with wingers and full-backs also being targeted.
On the flanks, Jack Grealish’s loan spell from Manchester City has been one of the positives of the season. Both the club and the player are open to making the move permanent despite the England international suffering a season-ending injury.
A deal, however, may prove complicated. Discussions are expected to involve several factors, and nothing has been finalised. Another loan move remains a possibility, as Manchester City would prefer a permanent transfer but Grealish’s £300,000-per-week wages make that difficult for many clubs.
The player himself has enjoyed his time at Everton and would likely welcome a return to Merseyside.
Meanwhile, Dwight McNeil—who nearly joined Crystal Palace late in the January transfer window—is expected to leave this summer, creating a vacancy on the wing.
Everton are also admirers of Fulham winger Harry Wilson, though competition for his signature is expected to be strong. Aston Villa and Championship promotion hopefuls Wrexham are also tracking the Welsh international, who is approaching free-agent status.
Full-back positions are another area Everton want to strengthen.
Left-back Vitaliy Mykolenko is currently in talks over a new contract, which could provide stability on that side, but Everton still intend to recruit another left-back regardless of whether he signs a new deal. His current contract runs out this summer.
Adam Aznou, who joined from Bayern Munich last year, has yet to make a significant impact under Moyes. While the club still rate the 19-year-old highly, a loan move next season is being considered to aid his development.
Everton are interested in Wolves’ Hugo Bueno as a potential left-back option. The Spaniard is expected to leave Molineux this summer, though Everton may face competition from clubs playing in European competitions.
On the right side of defence, Nathan Patterson could be sold as the club looks to raise funds and refresh its options. He was close to joining Sevilla on loan in January, but the move fell through after Everton failed to secure a replacement.
One player on Everton’s radar is Celta Vigo defender Oscar Mingueza. The Spain international can play at right-back or centre-back, offering the versatility Moyes values.
The 26-year-old is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, making him an attractive option for Everton.
With the season entering its decisive stage, Everton’s transfer plans are centred on targeted signings that will improve both depth and overall quality, and a busy summer at Hill Dickinson Stadium appears increasingly likely as Moyes looks to push the club forward.
